BDO bankruptcy trustees offer debt help options
Each year, BDO helps thousands of Canadians resolve debt problems and regain control of their future. Our professionals pride themselves on providing expert debt management strategies in a respectful manner that promotes your dignity, eases your fears, relieves your stress and helps you to get back to living your life.
No obligation consultation
At BDO, our professionals provide confidential, no obligation consultations to help you decide on the best debt solution option to meet your needs. We start by listening to get a better understanding of your financial situation and will also inquire about your income, your assets (what you own), your budget, expenses, and outstanding debts.
Once your advisor understands your complete financial situation, he/she will explain possible debt management options that can help you overcome your financial problems. These may include: budget and credit counselling, repayment through a consumer proposal or filing for bankruptcy.
Our debt management services
At BDO, we specialize in helping you:
Navigate the process of filing for bankruptcy and guiding you through the bankruptcy steps
Draft a practical proposal to creditors (also known as a consumer proposal) to help you negotiate how much you will pay back and the time period for repayment
Develop better budgeting and money management skills through our credit counselling sessions
Connect you to other debt consultants and professional advisors in situations where filing for bankruptcy or making a proposal are not suitable solutions
You BDO advisor will explain the pros and cons of the options available to help you get out of debt, and answer any questions you may have about your debt management options.
Qualified, licensed BDO professionals
Our BDO professionals include credit counsellors, Trustees in Bankruptcy and proposal administrators who are trained, certified and knowledgeable about dealing with debt in Canada. Our BDO Trustees in Bankruptcy are licensed by the Office of the Superintendent of Bankruptcy (OSB), an agency of Industry Canada. Trustees can also provide debt counselling, negotiate settlement agreements on your behalf, and help you make a proposal to your creditors to consolidate debt and avoid bankruptcy. Trustee fees are regulated by the federal government and, therefore, often cost less than other debt management consultants or debt solution providers.
For complete information we encourage you to contact your local BDO office or request a call.
